Welcome to the colorful world of flowers. Their structure and texture offer up many imaginative creations. I photographed a few of these flowers at the Strybing Arboretum in San Francisco, and the rest in garden's of my friends.
Many exciting scenes present themselves while traveling the back roads of the Arkansas Ozarks. From the top of worn hills, down into hidden valleys, life keeps on flowing in tune with the river. Along with the Buffalo River, the Little Red River (where many of these photos were taken), also flows through Searcy County, Arkansas.
The Arkansas Ozarks have four distinct seasons, each with a unique personality. I try to capture those special dramatic moments, from vivid skyscapes to colorful seasonal brilliance, from dancing waters to glittering ice storms. It's all part of nature's kaleidoscope of color.
Machu Picchu was my destination, but I learned the most about Peru, on the journey itself. From Puno, on Lake Titicaca, we journeyed by train, across the high plains and down the Urubamba River Valley to Cusco (the Inca Capital). Machu Picchu is still another 5hr train trip into the jungle. One can appreciate what life was about, living in a city on top of a mountain, hidden deep in the jungle.
This gallery features a collection of photographes I enjoy. I'm always working with light, form and space to show how the ordinary is extraordinary. It includes pictures of high-flying kites at a fair in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, to the boardwalks on the wetlands of South Carolina. This gallery will be an evolving process.
Slovenia, the country of my grandparents, is surrounded by Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. I traveled through Ljubljana, Lake Bled, Ptuj, Piran and the Soca River valley in search of their homeplace, Stari Trg ob Kolpi.
